Continuing education requirements for:Utah Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)

Special Note: APRNs in the state of Utah are also required to maintain their RN licensure.

General CE Requirements

• Total Credits: 26

• Frequency: Every 2 years

Specialty Requirements

• Controlled Substance Prescribing

  • Total Credits: 4

  • Frequency: Every 2 renewal cycles

  • Conditions:

    • APRNs with prescriptive authority

  For the required Controlled Substance Prescribing training, you must complete 3.5 hours through an approved provider found here. The remaining 0.5 hours must be completed through the state-required training found here.
