Continuing education requirements for:Colorado Dentist (DMD)

Special Note: For a licensee’s first renewal, no continuing education is required if the license was held for 12 months or less prior to the first expiration date. If the license was held for more than 12 months but less than 24 months prior to the first expiration date, 15 hours of continuing education are required. 15 hours must be live and interactive in real time. 16 must be clinical or science based. Basic Life Support (BLS) is required for all dental licenses. Maximum 2 CE hours may be applied toward license renewal. Dentists renewing an anesthesia or sedation permit must complete 17 hours every 5 years. These hours may also count toward the 30-hour license renewal, but: Only applied to the license period in which they were completed. BLS hours do NOT count toward anesthesia permit renewal.
